Larry Alan Green of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on December 24, 2023, at the age of 71. He courageously fought his battle with cancer.
Larry was born on January 5, 1952, in Gatesville, Texas, to his loving parents Vernon Aleck and Paula Adele Green. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas and later moved to Burnet in 1969 and graduated from Burnet High School in 1970. He retired from Lower Colorado River Authority as a Master Electrician after 35 years and then retired from a second career at Georgetown Independent School District after 8 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time traveling to beautiful mountain towns like Red River, New Mexico with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his one sister, Karen Thiem, of Cedar Park, Texas.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Nina, and together they have a blended family to include a son, Alan Green of Georgetown, Texas (Tinsley); daughter, Amanda Green of Burnet, Texas (Emerson and Wesley); stepdaughter, Tisha Kolek and husband, Richard of Dripping Springs, Texas (Logan and Kyra); and stepdaughter, Misty Comer of Cedar Park (Tyler and Rylee); and also many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Larry will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Georgetown Church of Christ, 1525 West University Avenue, Georgetown, Texas.
Larry’s family would like to sincerely thank the ICU medical staff at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital. The care and support provided for him and the family was outstanding.
