Larry Harrell “Mike” Martin
Larry Harrell “Mike” Martin was born in Trinity, Texas, on October 4, 1941, to parents Russell Harrell Martin and Cathern Cupp Martin. He passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024, after an extended illness.
He attended high school in Angleton, Texas, graduating in 1960, then attended the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with a BBA in Finance from the University of Houston, became a Certified Public Accountant, and had a lengthy career in the banking and savings and loan industries and several financial institutions.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Nancy Jeanne Anderson Martin and two daughters, Melissa Dyan Helbert and her husband Matthew Wayne Helbert of Leander and Jessica Susan Ewing and her husband, Jason Lee Ewing of Austin. Four grandchildren survive him, Riley Colin Helbert, Audrey Evelyn Helbert, Eleanor Grace Ewing and Gretchen Noelle Ewing.
He was quite the family man who loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s school and church activities, along with their sports, music and dance events. The family is very gratified by his love and affection, integrity, intelligence and life interests.
A family graveside service and celebration of life will be held to honor him.
