With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Louis Martinez Jr., who departed this life on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the age of 79. Louis Martinez Jr. was born on March 6, 1945, in New York.
Louis lived a life marked by love, faith and an unshakable devotion to family. His kindness was boundless, his laughter contagious, and his presence a source of warmth and comfort to all who knew him.
A gifted pianist with a soulful spirit, Louis found joy in music and shared that joy with others. Whether through the melody of a song or the simple power of his laughter, he had a way of lighting up every room he entered.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Dessey Dorothy Jefferson and Lewis Martinez Sr., wife Ozella Martinez, his aunt Tommye Jefferson, who raised him with unwavering love after he lost his parents at a young age. He is also reunited with Arabelle Miller, Harvey Miller and his precious granddaughter, Jade Guajardo.
He is survived by his wife, his children Yolanda Guzman, Yvette Budd and Louis Martinez III; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and extended family members who will continue to honor his memory and celebrate his life.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 610 Martin Luther King Jr, Georgetown, Texas, where family and friends are invited to come together to remember and celebrate Louis’ extraordinary life.
