Nancy Florence

Nancy Florence

Nancy Florence

89 years ago an amazing woman was born in El Paso, Texas to John Paul and Elizabeth Kerr. Nancy Florence’s wonderful life journey sadly ended on Monday, July 31st. Her incredible constitution fueled her will to live through a number of health challenges, including COPD, but her fantastic spirit always prevailed. In her 65 years in El Paso, more than 30 of that was as a much-loved elementary school teacher. She also met and married the love of her life, Robert Ray Florence, with whom she shared her life for 42 years until he lost his battle with cancer.

She then moved to Sun City in Georgetown, Texas to be closer to family and where she lived out her final 25 years. She made many new friends and discovered many new pastimes, including line dancing and table tennis.

Nancy was very artistically gifted in so many ways. She could draw, paint, sew, quilt, knit and especially play any keyboard by ear. She loved to share her musical gifts too as she volunteered to play at several Georgetown hospitals and memory care facilities.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Jenifer and her partner Brad, son and daughter-in-law Scott and Tracy, her two grandchildren Emma and Dylan, her brother and sister-in-law John Paul (Fella) and Barbara, a sister Jane and a large number of the extended Kerr family. All of her many life-long friends old and new and pretty much anyone whose path she crossed, all will miss her so much, but none more than her family.

In lieu of any memorial service, her family asks that anyone please donate their time or money in her honor to COPDfoundation.org or the cancer foundation of your choice.
