Orville Lyle Tanner born August 9, 1934, in Mason City, Iowa, to parents Harriette (Redington) and Lyle Orville Tanner passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Georgetown, Texas. Orville was a well-respected member of the community. He loved God and his family.
Orville leaves behind his beloved wife, Betty (Reynolds) Tanner, of 62 years. His cherished children: Karole Tanner and her son Adam Hollar, John Tanner and his wife Ashley (Maggart) and their two sons Evan and HaBin all of Georgetown, Texas.
He also leaves behind his daughter Phyllis (Tanner) Cox of Wayzata, Minnesota, and her son and grandchildren. His daughter Christy (Tanner) Wade and her husband Richard and her two children and grandchildren and son Orville Tanner and his wife Amy and his sons and grandchildren all of Council Bluffs, Iowa. He also leaves behind his sister Patty (Tanner) Moore of New Braunfels and her two sons and their families. Orville is preceded in death by his parents Harriette and Lyle Tanner and sister Peggy (Tanner) St. John all of Rockport, Texas.
Services are set to be held on April 5, 2025, at St. John’s Methodist Church 311 East University Avenue, Georgetown, Texas, at 10 a.m.
