Paula Jane Churchman, 76, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2026. Paula was born on January 24, 1950, in Clovis, New Mexico to Lloyd and Dorothy Franklin. She attended Eastern New Mexico University and received a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. It was here that she met Raymond Churchman who became her husband of 54 years. Paula built her career in early childhood education teaching Head Start and Kindergarten and later serving as a Head Start Director for Region XVI in Amarillo, Texas.
Those who knew Paula knew she was always ready to serve others in many ways. She enjoyed teaching Children’s Bible class and Ladies Bible. She was involved in several different groups to sew charity quilts. Her free time was spent quilting at home which she gave many away to others.
Paula was preceded in death by her son Peter and daughter-in-law Jody. She is survived by her husband, Raymond, as well as their daughter Loree (Ed) Wilson and grandchildren: Hannah (Kyle), Halee, Emily and Tyler.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Cherokee Children’s Home. Family and friends are invited to Georgetown Church of Christ on August 22, 2026, at 11am to remember Paula.
