Richard Arvel Hagans
Richard Arvel Hagans, a WWII veteran died at home at age 99 on Thursday, August 17. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Driskell, three granddaughters, grandsons by marriage and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, 2 sisters, a son, a daughter, a granddaughter, and wife of 67 years.
Richard was born in Loraine, Texas,
July 15, 1924. After spending years in the service he moved about the United States as an air traffic controller finally settling in Austin, Texas in 1955. Richard was always involved in his church, First United Methodist of Georgetown and his Georgetown community. He loved traveling and square dancing with his wife, fishing and spending time with his family. Richard had a joyful heart, a loving family and passion for God. We know that what most truly enriches us are the people we love, and who love us in return.
A visitation for Richard will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, TX 78628. Richard’s life will be celebrated during his service following the visitation at 11 a.m. Richard will be laid to rest at the Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
