Sharon Joy Mitchell, 88, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, in Georgetown, Texas. Born on December 29, 1937, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Arthur Harold Hanson and Theresa Leona Johnson, Sharon lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an appreciation for the beauty of the world around her.
A devoted mother and a proud military service wife to her late husband, Arthur Mitchell, Sharon embraced her family with unwavering care and devotion. She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Pamela, son in law Gary Sullivan, Robin, son in law Anthony Buck, and Tracey, son in law Robert Melvin. Grandchildren Garrett Sullivan, Shannon Sullivan Diamond, Erika Sullivan, Sarah Buck, Elizabeth Buck Johnson, Skyler, Bella and LeiLani Melvin. Great grandchildren Savannah and Sadie Sullivan. Her family was the heart of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Sharon found immense joy in gardening and birding, pursuits that reflected her deep connection to nature. Whether tending to her garden or observing birds in their natural habitat, she found peace and fulfillment in these simple yet profound activities.
Those who knew Sharon will remember her for the warmth and kindness she brought into their lives.
Her gentle spirit and caring presence left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Faith Lutheran Church, Georgetown. A private family graveside service will be held at Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery.
