Steven T Powell, age 79, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023. He was born in Gary, Indiana to Steven and Margaret Powell and resided in Georgetown, Texas for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; his children: Debra Michele Indermark, Steven Matthew (Susan) Powell, Mark (Luz) Anthony Donaldson, and Stephanie Gail Powell and two grandchildren: Steven C. Powell and Allison V. Donaldson. Preceded in death by father, Steven Powell, mother, Margaret Powell, and sister, Jerrie Ann Powell.
He retired from IBM after 38 years of computer service, programming, and more. In his retirement, he gained his pilot’s license and enjoyed volunteering at Horse Empowered Learning Programs, Inc. (H.E.L.P.), as well as spreading the good news through Lutheran Braille Workers and The Gideon’s International organizations. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, planes, fast cars, sailing, and lending a hand to anyone who needed it.
A Celebration of Life Service followed by a brief reception will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church (Georgetown) with Pastor John Davenport officiating. A brief service and military honors will be held at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Thursday,
