Suzy Millar Miller

Suzy Millar Miller, 75, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at a hospital in Austin, Texas. She was the beloved wife of Chuck, and loving mother of Julie Ann and Carl “CC” Clinton Millar.

Suzy retired from IBM as an auditor and technical writer. She kept busy in her retirement continuing as a Lifetime Member of the West Licking Historical Society, Pickerington-Violet Township Historical Society, as well as the Reynoldsburg-Truro Historical Society (RTHS), where she held the office for many, many decades as the Corresponding Secretary on the Board of Directors. Her five-part series “A Walk Down Main Street” was shared and read by over 28,185 people.

She served as the pianist for the Reynoldsburg High School Chorus throughout her entire high school career and was the accompanist for the youth choir at the United Methodist Church. Music has always been an important part of her life.

Suzy was a past Regent for the Mathias Ridenour Chapter of the National Society for the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). She is very proud of her heritage as evidenced by the DAR emblem on the back of her tombstone.

Suzy’s claim to fame came in the form of a frog. The first Saturday in February was known to all her friends and her entire family as the official Ground Frog’s Day. There was a celebration every year. After 40 years of Frog parties, the final Ground Frog Party was held on February 4, 2012. In her last newsletter story, she recommended that we should each start our own holiday. She said, “It can be about a collection of items, a special family date, or anything we choose. The important point is to keep it consistent and not a traditional holiday, so it becomes a personal time that reminds people of you and how you care for those around you.”

Suzy is survived by her son, Carl Clinton Miller, nephews, Brian and Chris Millar and many cousins, including Sharon (Cosner) Sellitto. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Clinton Millar in 1984, her brother, Michael Paul Millar in 1991; mother, Maebelle Leona (Weber) Millar in 1998, her daughter, Julie Ann Miller in 2000, and her devoted husband, Charles (Chuck) William Miller in 2010. She will be buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Georgetown, Williamson County, Texas, USA.  

A visitation will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas. Suzy may be gone, but she will never be forgotten. Her legacy will live on forever. What she gave to this community is more precious than gold. She gave us her stories, her background, her memories and most importantly, her friendship.
