Thomas Joseph Bloomer
Thomas Joseph Bloomer, 74, of Jarrell, Texas, passed away in his home on Friday, February 14, 2025, after surviving leukemia and fighting graft-versus-host disease for many years. Tom was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, on February 1, 1951.
After high school, Tom joined the U.S. Army, and served in Germany as a field radio repair specialist. He earned the National Defense Service Medal. When he returned to Texas, Tom worked various jobs ending at the City of Austin Power Plants until retirement.
Tom had many interests including playing the drums, riding his unicycle and studying the stock market and day trading. Tom was adept at working with his hands and made many furniture items still used by the family today. He also assembled a bulldozer for use in clearing his property. He found a house design, made it his own and constructed his house himself.
Tom was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Cornhill, Texas, and the Knights of Columbus.
He is joining his father, Joseph Francis Bloomer, and his mother, Vera Ruth (Robins) Bloomer in eternal rest.
He is survived by siblings; David Anthony Bloomer (Missouri City, Texas), Mary Diann Ringo (Brazil, Indiana), and Frances Bloomer (Round Rock, Texas). Also, nieces and nephews; Ryan Bloomer, Kayla Bloomer, David Ringo and Jena Ringo; great-nieces and other friends.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Cornhill, 8626 FM 1105, Jarrell, Texas 76537.
