Vivian Joyce Walden, 92 of Georgetown, Texas passed away July 9, 2023 in Georgetown.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 9am in the Weir Cemetery in Weir, Texas.

Joyce was born in Weir, Texas to Earnest O. Peters and Vivian Lewallen Peters on February 2, 1931. She went to school in Georgetown and graduated from Georgetown High school. She married Donald Walden on August 1, 1950, in Weir, Texas. She enjoyed all types of sewing from quilting at home and with her friends at Handcrafts Unlimited, needlepoint, crochet, knitting, and being a seamstress for her family; if thread and some sort of needle were involved, she did it. She loved to fish, loved being with her family, and putting puzzles together. She enjoyed her flowers, and beach trips with family and friends. Joyces cooking is being missed by many family and friends especially Friday’s - hamburger day, along with Thanksgiving and Christmas lunches. She made the best chocolate chip cookies in town. She was always involved in all her family’s youth sporting events and activities. Joyce always cared for others and was always willing to help. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church and for many years was involved in singing in the choir and assisting in the newsletter. At the time of her death, she was the longest standing member of First Presbyterian Church Georgetown. To her family she was the best mom ever.

Joyce is survived by daughter; Becky Kennedy and husband Tim, sons; Travis Walden and wife Sandra, Scott Walden and wife Linda, sister; Jeannie Schneider grandchildren; Haley Weisbrod and husband Bobby, Grayson Kennedy, Misty Walden, Tanner Walden, Chad Hall and Cole Hall, great grandchildren; Hooper Lee, Juliet Lee, Paige Weisbod, Brody Weisbrod, Hayes Kennedy, Hudson Kennedy, Tucker Weisbrod, and Kasyn Walden.
