Vivian Marie Ickes
Vivian Marie Ickes, 80, of Austin, passed away July 26, 2026. She was born April 15, 1946, to Edward and Bobbie (Brock) Ickes in Georgetown, Texas. She graduated from Georgetown High School in 1964 and received a BA in English and Spanish from Southwestern University in 1968.
She was a devout lifelong Catholic, first at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Georgetown and finally at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Austin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Bobbie Ickes, sister Susan Sparwath and brother-in-law Charlie Adams. Survivors include sisters Carolyn Stigdon (Hugh) of Georgetown, Shirley Royster (Tom) of Denton, Cathy Sullivan (Percy) of Austin, Rebecca Adams of Jarrell, Margaret Anderson (Robert) of Georgetown; and brothers Terry Ickes (Melanie) of Lebanon, Missouri, and Mark Ickes of Austin; and brother-in-law Paul Sparwath of Cumming, Georgia. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5, from 6-8 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, with rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Services will be held Thursday, August 6, at 10 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, with burial following at IOOF Cemetery. Donations may be made in Vivian’s name to the charity of your choice.
