Wayne Donald DeYoung, age 86 of Georgetown, Texas, went to our Heavenly Father on March 21, 2025. Wayne was born on December 2, 1939, to his parents Marie Visker Smith and Cecil DeYoung in Tracy, Minnesota. He also had a stepfather Wayne Smith. Wayne grew up in the Tracy area until his mother and stepfather bought a resort on a lake in Wisconsin and that is where he met the love of his life, Diana who quickly captured his heart, and after a brief courting period, they were married on April 5, 1962. Wayne was a truck driver for many years until he retired in 2002 due to medical issues. He was a cancer survivor of 30-plus years.
He had a passion for being at the beach or camping at the lake with family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and hunter for many years. He also enjoyed his many pets including his dogs Rosie and Daisy, his parrot Cookie and even a goose that befriended him at San Gabriel Park named “Goose.”
There will be a celebration of his life on April 5, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. at

Wayne was preceded in death by his mother Marie Smith, father Cecil DeYoung, stepfather Wayne Smith and brother Roger DeYoung. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Diana DeYoung of Georgetown, his sister Susie Smith of Tracy, a daughter Dawn Vigil of Waco, a son Donnie DeYoung and his wife Lauri Ann of Jarrell, seven grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five nieces and four nephews. He will be forever loved and missed by all his family and friends.
