Ducks race for a good cause

The 10th annual AAUW Duck Race was held on the river at San Gabriel Park on Saturday, November 1, 2025.  Rubber ducks are placed in the river and race to the finish in several heats.  Winners of winning ducks win prizes.   The event raises funds for area high school student scholarships.

Out and About: Georgetown celebrates Day of the Dead

Día de los Muertos originated in Mexico but was celebrated locally with beautiful symbols, traditions and imagery in the remembrance of loved ones.The joyful three-day holiday starts October 31 with the Day of the Little Angels when spirits of deceased children visit their families.

Georgetown's Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held at Southwestern University on Saturday morning, October 18. The event, which drew 500-600 participants, was coordinated by the Alzheimer’s Association Capital of Texas Chapter.
