Williamson County revises park policies

Summer is in full swing. With families spending more time outdoors, Williamson County officials are adjusting park rental rules and reservation policies.

Juneteenth celebrations happening this weekend

Georgetown’s 73rd annual Juneteenth celebration will include a photo exhibit, live entertainment, a parade and a historical marker unveiling over the next week. Some events are a partnership between the city and the Georgetown Cultural Citizen Memorial Association.

County approves additional funding for floodplain mapping

Williamson County commissioners voted 3-2 to approve additional funding for the Atlas 14 project, which includes contracts with three private engineering firms to complete an updated floodplain map for the county.

The heart of the matter: Survivor speaks about cardiac arrest

Jarrell resident Israel Chavez described his lifestyle as "semi-active." As a cabinet inspector for new home construction, the 43-year-old also logged an additional 10 to 15 miles daily on a stationary bike to manage his Type 2 diabetes.

Sunflowers welcome summer time, smiles

Happy flowers. Officially, they’re wild sunflowers, but just seeing them adorning the landscape brings joy. While the large ones that people take time to plant are nice, their smaller cousins are growing in abundance as summer nears.

Williamson County sees 8.47% increase in market value

Williamson County’s total market value increased by about 8.47 percent in 2025, according to the June 3 presentation from the Appraisal District. The county’s total market value at $184.69 billion for 2025, up from $170.27 billion in 2024, according to the preliminary data.

Listings up, sales down in Central Texas

In April, the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown Metropolitan Statistical Area saw an 11.5 percent increase in new home listings, according to the latest Central Texas Housing Report released by Unlock MLS.
