Williamson County completes framework for new headquarters

Williamson County officials commemorated the structural completion of the new county administration building Friday afternoon with a topping off ceremony.“The topping out ceremony celebrates a monumental moment in the construction of any building,”  Commissioner Valerie Covey said.

JPs selected as leaders in regional justice association

Justice of the Peace Judges Angela Williams and Evelyn McLean were elected into leadership positions for the Central Texas Justices of the Peace & Constables Association. Judge McLean will serve as the 2025 president and Judge Williams as the 2025 judge advocate for the Association.

Williamson County stresses importance of sexual assault awareness

Williamson County commissioners recognized April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month during its April 1 meeting. “I know that at times it can feel like a proclamation is just words,” said Ryan Bownds, chief prosecutor of the special victims unit for the District Attorney's office.

County partners with Round Rock for road projects

Williamson County Commissioners Court received its monthly construction update, March 25. All projects discussed are part of the county’s road bond program.Senior Infrastructure Director Robert Daigh presented the updates, broken down by precinct.

Commissioners appoint spaceport board

The Williamson County Commissioners Court appointed four members to the Central Texas Spaceport Development Corporation Board of Directors, March 25. The new board members will serve a two-year term beginning June 1 and ending on May 31, 2027.

Williamson County issues county-wide burn ban

The Williamson County Commissioners Court issued a county-wide burn ban effective 10:18 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, for a period not to exceed 90 days due to severe drought conditions. These conditions include above-average heat, low humidity, low fuel moisture, and high winds.
