Local state of disaster declared for Williamson County

Williamson County Judge Steve Snell declared a local state of disaster Saturday, July 5, in response to area flooding. According to the county, the declaration is needed to protect the health, safety and welfare of county residents.

Animal shelter merger starts mid-July

The Georgetown Animal Shelter and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will officially merge on July 14. On that date, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter campus at 1855 Inner Loop will serve as the central location for main shelter services.

Williamson County sees 8.47% increase in market value

Williamson County’s total market value increased by about 8.47 percent in 2025, according to the June 3 presentation from the Appraisal District. The county’s total market value at $184.69 billion for 2025, up from $170.27 billion in 2024, according to the preliminary data.
