Annual Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo this weekend

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Posse will celebrate its 82nd annual rodeo this weekend on June 26 and 27 in Jarrell. It takes place at the WCSP Arena, 1600 County Road 305.

Destructive livestock parasite makes its way to Central Texas

Earlier this month, the Texas Department of Agriculture confirmed its first cases of New World Screwworm, one of which was in Central Texas in Gillespie County near Fredericksburg. Texas has confirmed 15 total cases across the state as of June 22.

Art Scapes: Mainly Art features outdoor art market in Round Rock

Round Rock’s outdoor art market, Mainly Art, is free and draws friendly crowds to the historic Main Street, specifically Prete Plaza and the downtown Paseo. Visitors can stroll through downtown and browse artwork offered by 15 different local visual artists from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Williamson County Tax Assessor-Collector relinquishes position

Williamson County property appraisals total $188.9 billion

During his annual Chief Appraiser, Alvin Lankford said the total market value for Williamson County properties in 2026 is $188.91 billion, Chief Appraiser Alvin Lankford shared with commissioners court Tuesday, June 2. Compared with 2021 data, the market has appreciated by 76 percent in five years.

Round Rock water parkThe City of Round Rock celebrated the completion of the Rock’N River Phase 3 Expansion Project on May 22 at 3300 East Palm Valley Boulevard. The project includes a 775-foot action river with two wave features: a typhoon wave generator and a barrel roll wave generator.

Elections Office adds new position to handle rise in public Information requests

The Williamson County Elections Department is falling behind on completing public information requests, and will hire a new coordinator to help address the increased number of requests made in recent years.
