Williamson County Judge Steve Snell laid out a wide-ranging vision for the county’s future during an hour-long conversation on July 14.The discussion covered everything from budget priorities to a decades-long water plan while highlighting services many residents may not know exist.

Commissioners distribute $800,000 to Williamson County nonprofits

For the first meeting at the new county administration building, the Williamson County Commissioners Court allocated $800,000 to four nonprofits from its Community Recreation Fund on Tuesday, July 14.The four $200,000 donations came from fees collected at the Williamson County Landfill.

The new county courtroom buzzed Tuesday morning with talk, hugs and handshakes as residents celebrated the opening of the new County Administration Building. “This building is a testament to the fast growing county,” County Judge Steve Snell said in his opening speech.

Williamson County expands take-home vehicle policy for sheriff's deputies

Williamson County sheriff’s deputies can now take their vehicles home if they live up to 20 miles outside the county line.In a 3-2 vote, Williamson County Commissioners Court updated the county policy June 30 based on a request by Sheriff Matt Lindemann.
