Groundbreaking for bond-approved Georgetown YMCA estimated for FY27

The new YMCA facility on 6200 Williams Drive — which was approved by voters through the 2023 bond election — will be part of Georgetown’s 2027 Capital Improvement Project budget.

Animal shelter partnership advances

Georgetown City Council on April 9 approved an interlocal agreement with the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter’s other partners to incorporate Georgetown into the county shelter.

County partners with Round Rock for road projects

YMCA changes course in programs

Georgetown’s future YMCA will be slightly larger than expected, and some potential services have shifted compared to what is written in the Memorandum of Understanding between the YMCA and the city that was approved through the city’s 2023 bond program.

Williamson County adds West Arena to Expo Center

 Williamson County broke ground on the Williamson County Expo Center West Arena during a ceremony on Monday, December 2 in Taylor.The West Arena project will feature a new 175-foot by 450-foot facility, including a covered arena.

Williamson County attracts new investors in bond sales

The Williamson County Commissioners Court heard an update on recent bond sales during the March 19 meeting.    About $141 million was sold for road bonds to fund $160 million worth of projects. Additionally, $152 million in tax notes were sold to fund $167 million in projects.

Georgetown animal shelter will join county shelter

The 2023 bond approved expansion of the Georgetown Animal Shelter will see the shelter absorbed into the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.
