Vintage shop Florence Marketplace offers customers something new

Florence Marketplace is a vintage store selling antiques and gifts in downtown Florence. Co-owned by Justin Gibson, the space is designed using a three pronged approach. The “Modern Mercantile” area sells giftable items like cosmetics, jewelry, candles, t-shirts and other drygoods.

Juliet Italian Kitchen coming to the Square

Juliet Italian Kitchen — an Austin-based restaurant that serves from-scratch Italian food inspired by the restaurants of Little Italy in New York City — will open a restaurant in the former home of Gumbo’s in Georgetown.

Samsung attracting hundreds of businesses to Wilco

Williamson County Economic Development Partnership met with the Liberty Hill Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors Wednesday, June 21, to discuss potential new businesses coming into the area as a result of Samsung.

All welcome at Namaste restaurant in Georgetown

Nepal native Dinesh Mishra in March opened Namaste Dine-in on Williamson Drive to introduce the Georgetown community to Nepali and Indian cuisines.  Namaste is a family-run restaurant that serves home-style dishes. Because Nepal borders Northern India, both Nepali and Indian cuisines are similar.

Grumpy George, an English pub, is opening on the Square later this summer

European immigrants Karen and Jack Soeffker are creating an authentic English pub on the Square called Grumpy George. The restaurant could open in early August at 114 East Seventh Street. Ms. Soeffker — the owner of All Things Kids on the Square — is originally from England.
On Tuesday, company officials — along with the project developer Iva McLachlan and Georgetown and Williamson County VIPs — cut the ribbon to celebrate its addition to Georgetown.

The historic Coupland Inn and Dancehall, built in 1904, holds dance classes every Sunday from 2-4 p.m.  The classes are free, but donations are appreciated.  On this day students were learning the Texas Two Step and Line Dancing techniques.

Tastes of the Town: Alma opens at The Hacienda

Casual elegance honors Texas tradition at Alma by Stephan Pyles. The restaurant is located at The Hacienda property near the south entrance to Sun City. The official opening for the much awaited restaurant was May 9.
