New Year means a clean house

From the end of November through the end of January, the City of Georgetown offers multiple ways for residents to get rid of string lights, Christmas trees and wrapping paper. Residents are encouraged to recycle these items to reduce landfill waste.

Have a sweet time at the Christmas Stroll

This weekend, downtown Georgetown will turn into a winter wonderland with the 44th annual Christmas Stroll. This year’s stroll — which takes place Friday, December 5 to Sunday, December 7 — is Candyland themed.

Anything can help: Nonprofit seeks volunteers to deliver Christmas meals

Since the early 1990s, Holiday Meals Delivered has worked to make sure Georgetown households have access to gift baskets and a special holiday meal on Christmas. This year, the nonprofit is again looking for volunteers, as well as monetary donations.

Santa Charles spreads joy to Georgetown schools, families

Sometimes kids dream a little too big when they’re coming up with their Christmas lists. And sometimes, Santa has to propose more appropriate alternatives.“I had one boy ask me for a real Ferrari,” joked Charles Guillote, who has worked as a Santa impersonator for the past eight years.

Jarrell kicks off the holidays with its first jubilee

Taking care of common Christmas plants

During the winter months, plants can add some extra festivities to the holiday season. The most popular of which include poinsettias and Christmas trees.  Taking care of winter plants, as all other plants, can at times be difficult. To take care of poinsettias and Chrstmas trees.

Operation Christmas Child thanks residents for festive giving

Charity initiative Operation Christmas Child is celebrating another successful year of gift-giving. Several churches in Williamson County were among nearly 5,000 U.S. drop-off locations collecting shoebox gifts for children overseas during Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week.
