City of Jarrell reviews financial status

The City of Jarrell is in good financial standing, according to a Fiscal Year 2024 report by third-party accountant Phil Vaughan. During Jarrell’s April 1 city council meeting, Mr. Vaughan reported that the city increased its general fund and utility revenues.

Jarrell paves way for county bond project

Jarrell City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Williamson County for the County Road 305 bond project during the March 18 meeting. The agreement will have Williamson County pay for the construction on the road, while the city will maintain and reimburse the county.

Implementing efficiency

Kicking off the new year with new changes, the City of Jarrell will modify development procedures as the city continues to grow. During the January 7 City Council meeting, officials approved new ordinances for future developers who want to build in the city and the extraterritorial jurisdiction.

Construction Junction: Jarrell City Council approves grant-funded projects

 The City of Jarrell will use Williamson County block grants to fund two infrastructure projects. City council on December 3 accepted funds for the installation of a water line along County Road 305 and the reconstruction of Fifth Street with West Avenue A.

New Jarrell council member take oaths

Photos by Nalani Nuylan.Jarrell’s mayor and city council members were sworn into office on Tuesday night, November 19. Officiated by Judge Scott Matthews, incumbent Mayor Patrick Sherek and Alderman Daniel Klepac renewed their oaths to the city. Newcomer Lori Allen took her oath for the first time.

Jarrell terminates city manager

 Jarrell City Council terminated former City Manager Danielle Singh during the October 8 city council meeting. The motion was made by Alderman Jeff Seidel and seconded by Alderman Daniel Islas.The motion passed 3-2, with Aldermen Jeff Seidel, Daniel Islas, and Adam Marsh in favor.

Tax rate slashed: Jarrell budget approval comes down to wire

Hours before the official start of the new fiscal year, Jarrell City Council approved the city’s budget with a 3-2 vote during a special meeting on September 30. Alderman Jeff Seidel and Daniel Islas voted against the budget.

The City of Jarrell will enter a new contract with Crossroads Utility Service for its wastewater service after terminating its previous contract with Inframark.

Nonprofit library provides Jarrell with resources, community

Jarrell kicks off the holidays with its first jubilee
