Georgetown Police investigating stray bullets that struck Sun City homes

When Kirk and Kate Kelley purchased their Sun City home last September, they never expected a bullet would one day shoot through their screened back porch and embed itself in a wall. That’s what happened, though, sometime recently, Mr. Kelley said. The bullet was discovered on April 25.

As fentanyl dangers grow, Wilco Sheriff awards grants supporting awareness and education

In a room full of heartbreak, Williamson County Sheriff Mike Gleason Tuesday told families of loved ones killed by fentanyl that his office is donating $50,000 to educate families and youth about the deadly drug.

Senator Charles Schwertner arrested on DWI charge in Austin

State Senator Charles Schwertner, 52, was arrested in Austin early Tuesday morning, February 7, on an alleged driving while intoxicated charge. He was booked into Travis County Jail at 2:12 a.m., according to Travis County Sheriff's Office records.

Wilco sheriff investigating death of 16-year-old boy

The Williamson County Sheriff ’s Office is investigating the “unattended” death of a 16-year old Georgetown male that occurred over the past weekend, Gracie Perez, department public information officer, said Tuesday, January 24.  The boy’s name and circumstances of his death have not been released.

Three sworn in as new Georgetown police officers

The Georgetown Police Department gained three new officers Thursday afternoon, when they were sworn in by Police Chief Cory Tchida. New officers are Caleb Miller, Dakota Norwood and Dylan Wright, all graduates of the Temple Police Academy.
