Juneteenth celebrations happening this weekend

Georgetown’s 73rd annual Juneteenth celebration will include a photo exhibit, live entertainment, a parade and a historical marker unveiling over the next week. Some events are a partnership between the city and the Georgetown Cultural Citizen Memorial Association.

Bridge architect talks new book, impact of bridges

Improvements to the Austin Avenue vehicular bridge are well underway, and a new pedestrian bridge is on the way in the near future.
Participants take off from  the starting line in  the Fun Run during the 12th Annual Chase the Chief event held at East View High School on Sunday, March 3, 2024. The event included a Fun Run, a 5K race and a fitness fair.   Proceeds help fund grants for physical education programs at Georgetown area schools. Ecumenical service continues into new year

For more than 25 years, the Georgetown Ecumenical Wholeness Service has welcomed people of different religions and faith backgrounds to sing, read scripture, take communion, light candles and pray during monthly services.
