After a year of gathering feedback and working out details, Georgetown city staff on September 8 presented city council with a proposed two-year pilot program that would allow downtown businesses to create removable outdoor seating areas on sidewalks and street parking spaces.

Georgetown approves $1.65 billion budget on second reading

Georgetown City Council unanimously approved the city’s $1.65 billion fiscal year 2027 budget on second reading on September 8, with a proposed tax rate of $0.363167 per $100 valuation. FY27’s budget is $300 million higher than the FY26 budget of $1.3 billion.
