G’town council issues bonds at meeting

The Georgetown City Council approved the issuance of general obligation and revenue bonds, as well as some certificates of obligation, during its Tuesday, April 25, meeting. Ordinances were passed on first and final reading.
The amended future land use map shows majority single-family zoning designations for the North Old Town neighborhood, as well as some medium-density mixed housing and office zonings near the outskirts of the neighborhood. City council approved the amended map during its Tuesday, April 11, meeting.

Georgetown approves future land use plan amendment for North Old Town

The Georgetown City Council voted Tuesday, April 11, to amend the city’s zoning designations earmarked for the North Old Town neighborhood as laid out in the future land use map — an action marking a long-sought victory for neighborhood residents.

Community, Georgetown council members cleans up after ice storm

Despite foggy skies and chilly temperatures, more than 50 volunteers gathered at the Berry Creek Racquet Club, 449 Champions Drive, Saturday morning to help neighbors cut and break down branches hanging from trees damaged by last week’s winter storm.

Georgetown fire, police chiefs outline growing demands, staffing needs
