Cross-town rival high schools came head-to-head to claim Birkelbach Field Friday. The showdown resulted in the Georgetown Eagles winning against the East View Patriots 31-13.

Georgetown Eagles start football season strong

Article was written by Mary Shoales and Amy Fangman, sophomores at Georgetown High School.  Kicking off the football season with a western-themed game, the Georgetown Eagles pulled out a 37-7 win over Copperas Cove last Friday.

Six Georgetown alumni inducted into 2023 Hall of Honor

Six Georgetown High School alumni — all accomplished in their fields of endeavor — were inducted into the school’s Hall of Honor last week.  Those honored this year were Daniel Aleman, Stanford Armstrong, Norma Clark, Jim “Bo” Guess, Rebekah Grace Kiltz and Harvey David Watts.

Grieving father challenges community to 'get educated' about fentanyl

Williamson County has not yet said officially what killed Georgetown High School sophomore Layton Ivins in January, but Cody Ivins says he knows that the opioid fentanyl took his son’s life — and he’s on a crusade to wake up the community about the killer in its midst.

Georgetown High School Eagles are state swimming champs

Georgetown High School’s boys swim team took home the gold Saturday, February 18, becoming Conference 5A State Champions for the second time in school history.  The team was led by junior Jeremy Kelly, who earned two individual gold medals at Saturday’s state swim meet.

Georgetown High School students convert old Mustang to electric-powered auto

No kit, no instruction manual, not even help from the internet — that’s the challenge Georgetown High School automotive students faced when instructor Kelley Mayo announced they’d be building an electric car.  Mr.

Georgetown High School floral design pathway attracting growing number of students

No longer just flowers in a vase, the art of floral design has become a popular class for Georgetown ISD high school students, teacher Amy Beran said. She should know. She’s been the program instructor for 25 years. “This is a career pathway that’s attracting more students every year,” she said.

David Watts launches new podcast about Georgetown

A former Georgetown resident is paying homage to his hometown through a new podcast produced all the way from his new home in San Francisco.  David Watts is a man of many hats. At the top of the bill, he is a doctor and medical lecturer, but also an author of western books, a poet and a musician.
