GISD trustees approve property tax increase, Set November tax rate election to support employee raises

Georgetown ISD trustees on August 17 approved a resolution increasing the property tax rate for Fiscal Year 2027 and placed a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election on the November 3 ballot. With this move, the tax rate would increase from $1.0506 per $100 in property valuation to $1.

Georgetown ISD celebrates B rating, progress in campus 2026 State accountability scores

Georgetown ISD is celebrating notable progress in its scores based on the 2026 Texas accountability system. GISD earned a rating of B in 2026, up from the C rating it’s had since 2023.

GISD, Georgetown coordinate DB Wood road work ahead of new high school

While Georgetown ISD builds its third comprehensive high school along DB Wood Road, the City of Georgetown will work on the second phase of the DB Wood Road expansion project, which stretches from Oak Ridge Road to Williams Drive.
Georgetown ISD’s new high school is under construction on DB Wood Road. Not yet named, it’s slated to open in 2028. The project was funded through GISD’s 2024 voter-approved bond.

GISD trustees review tax election survey results

In a community survey, 58 eight percent of Georgetown ISD respondents said they’d approve a 9-cent school tax increase if a TRE — a Tax Ratification Election — were placed on the November ballot by Georgetown ISD.
