Piemaker, Georgetown High School alum returns as culinary teacher

Karina Davila likes to bake … really likes to bake. Every weekend, she bakes a lot — hundreds of pies, cinnamon rolls, Pop-Tarts and anything else that strikes her fancy. Ms. Davila is a baker with a commercial oven in her home laundry room, providing tasty pastries to her many loyal customers.

The Georgetown Eagles rallied late Friday after a kick-return score, but the Henderson Hawks’ explosive offense led by EJ Neal-Adams’ strong rushing performance proved decisive in a 28-17 game in Pflugerville.

Georgetown ISD seeks name nominations for new high school

Georgetown ISD is seeking nominations to name its fourth high school, a project that was approved by voters in the May 2024 bond election. The new campus, on the district’s west side at DB Wood and Cedar Breaks roads, is under construction and scheduled to open in fall 2028.

Not content with a B state rating, GISD aims for an A in 2027

Georgetown ISD has its eyes on an A state rating in 2027, after receiving a B rating this year — up from Cs from 2022 through 2025. “Earning a B is good.

New Georgetown teachers receive welcome bags

About 315 new teachers at Georgetown ISD, GT School and Gateway College Preparatory School received welcome swag bags from the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce that included gift cards, special offers, coupons, useful supplies and more from local businesses.
