GISD poised to adopt budget with $4.9 million deficit for 2024-25

Georgetown ISD trustees in June will be asked to approve a $165.4 million budget for the upcoming school year — one that digs deep into its fund balance because expected income will not equal expenditures by $4.9 million.

Georgetown ISD trustee Jen Mauldin wins board seat for second term

Georgetown ISD voters gave school trustee Jen Mauldin a second three-year term in the May 4 trustee election.
She defeated challenger Aaron Smith for Place 6, garnering 70 percent of the vote.
Also elected was Stacy McLaughlin who ran unopposed for Place 7.
