GISD reports progress on voter-approved bonds

Georgetown ISD officials last week reported progress on 2024 bond projects to its Citizens Advisory Committee, the group that created the $649.5 million bond package approved by voters in May.All four of GISD’s bond propositions passed.

GISD pursues land purchase in Northwest Georgetown

Superintendent Devin Padvil has been authorized by Georgetown ISD trustees to take preliminary steps to purchase 11.47 acres of land for a new school. The land is adjacent to 135 acres already owned by GISD in the district’s northwest quadrant, according to the Williamson County Appraisal District.

After bond approval, trustees approve 1 cent property tax rate increase

Georgetown ISD trustees unanimously approved a new property tax rate of $1.0544 per $100 valuation at the August 19 meeting. The increase brings the tax rate up from $0.0077 per $100 valuation, which is less than a penny more than last year, Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Hanna said.
