School Notes

Rising Georgetown High School senior Kamrin Gordon and 2024 GHS graduates Elizabeth McCallum and Brayden Boff earned the Outstanding Performer Award at the 2024 Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest for solos in Voice, Harp and Timpani, respectively.The competition was held May 25 and 27.

Mauldin, McLaughlin take GISD board seats

  Two trustees — one returning, one new — were sworn into office during the Monday, May 20, Georgetown ISD board meeting.  Jen Mauldin and Stacy McLaughlin filled Places 6 and 7, respectively. The two were selected by voters in the May 4 election. Ms.

Georgetown ISD trustee Jen Mauldin wins board seat for second term

Georgetown ISD voters gave school trustee Jen Mauldin a second three-year term in the May 4 trustee election. She defeated challenger Aaron Smith for Place 6, garnering 70 percent of the vote. Also elected was Stacy McLaughlin who ran unopposed for Place 7.
