Georgetown water, wastewater rates will increase

Typical Georgetown residential water and wastewater bills are set to increase by an average of 10.3 percent per year starting in 2027 and through 2031. Typical commercial bills would increase by 11.8 percent a year during that period.

Residents brainstorm solutions, roadblocks in attempt to stop jail proposal

In the wake of the Williamson County Commissioners Court moving forward with the purchase of a site for its future Jail and Justice Center Complex, Georgetown City Council Member Ben Stewart held a town hall Thursday, May 21, to discuss the zoning process for the site.

Jail a done deal: Commissioners finalize $75M site purchase despite resident concerns

After an hour of public opposition from residents, Williamson County Commissioners Court finalized its contract to buy 248 acres off SE Inner Loop in South Georgetown for its future Jail and Justice Center.

Portions of Berry Creek Drive reopen after storm damage

Update: The portion of Berry Creek Drive that was closed due to storm damage reopened on Saturday, May 23, according to Kieth Hutchinson, city communications manager. He said the public works department installed a "precast concrete box culvert" that allowed them to make repairs.

Groundbreaking for bond-approved Georgetown YMCA estimated for FY27

The new YMCA facility on 6200 Williams Drive — which was approved by voters through the 2023 bond election — will be part of Georgetown’s 2027 Capital Improvement Project budget.

Georgetown seeks $274 million in state loans for water pipeline

City of Georgetown staff will apply for up to $274 million in deferred and low-interest loans from the Texas Water Development Board to help fund a pipeline connecting Circleville to northern Georgetown as part of the Georgetown Regional Water Initiative.
