Firefighter calendar ignites union fundraiser

Just like in George Strait’s “The Fireman:” — They call me the fireman, that’s my name — members of Georgetown’s firefighter union are embracing their name and expanding the boundaries of fundraising with a calendar.

Rain, cold hit Georgetown

A cold week in Georgetown culminated with a rainy, cloudy Thursday, January 9.

Born on this date in 1917, Blaschke has done three skydives in recent years, the first in 2017, followed by another with his twin grandsons in 2020 and another with Governor Greg Abbott in 2023.

Ring in the new year with events around town

Council, HARC approve building on Austin Avenue

Two days after Georgetown City Council issued a courthouse view waiver to a proposed building on Austin Avenue, the Historic Architectural Review Commission followed suit, approving height variance for the project Thursday, December 12.

Williamson County, Georgetown celebrates new roadway

Williamson County Commissioners celebrated the completion of the first phase of Corridor C, Monday afternoon. The ribbon cutting marked the completion of the project, connecting Sam Houston Avenue at Patriot Way to State Highway 29. The road opens to traffic this Friday, December 20.
