The Williamson County Sheriff Posse Rodeo will host its annual event June 27-28 at the WCSP Arena, located at 1600 County Road 305 in Jarrell.

Georgetown moves to two-day watering schedule

Georgetown residents can water their lawns twice a week beginning June 9. The city will move to a two-day watering schedule thanks to the addition of more than 10 million gallons of water per day from the South Lake Water Treatment Plant coming online this summer.

Listings up, sales down in Central Texas

In April, the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown Metropolitan Statistical Area saw an 11.5 percent increase in new home listings, according to the latest Central Texas Housing Report released by Unlock MLS.

Speaker honors fallen through storytelling

At the annual Memorial Day ceremony at Sun City, this year’s keynote speaker — Major Jay Lardizabal, U.S. Army, Retired — spoke about honoring those who gave their life for their country, not through recounting how they died, but through stories that honor their legacy.

Seeds of Strength gives $159,000

Georgetown nonprofit Seeds of Strength supported 10 total organizations through its most recent grant cycle. Seven organizations received a combined $157,500, and three more organizations received $500 merit awards.
