Williamson County Sheriff Matthew Lindemann shared information about the programs and units managed by the Sheriff’s Office during the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce’s Cornerstone Series at the Sheraton Hotel on Thursday, May 1.

County provides update on new jail, road projects

Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey introduced new County Judge Steven Snell during the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Links on April 24. Ms. Covey also outlined ongoing initiatives by her office. Judge Snell was sworn in as the new county judge on April 21.
The roadways through the development are currently conceptual as they will have to meet road spacing standards set by the city’s Unified Development Code.

Disannexed property changes course

A property that left Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction is now requesting to come back into the ETJ, with eventual annexation into the city as the ultimate goal. The ETJ is a designated buffer area just outside the city limits, according to the city.

Georgetown City Council comes to decision on library future plans

With demand for services and space on the rise, Georgetown City Council indicated it will prioritize renovating and expanding the Georgetown Public Library downtown before exploring options for potential micro-branches around the city.

Georgetown candidates take questions at forum

Three Georgetown City Council candidates running in contested District 3 and 4 races spoke to Sun City residents about their thoughts on current city issues during a candidate forum Wednesday, April 16. Early voting began Tuesday, April 22, and runs until April 29. Election day is May 3.

Steven Snell was sworn in as the new Williamson County judge Monday afternoon at the historic county courthouse.“Faith, family and the future.
