April is Parkinson's Awareness Month. At the April 25 meeting, the Georgetown Area Parkinson’s Support group will share information about the disease and provide results from new research. Alejandra Lopez Nweke is a representative from the Michael J Fox Foundation and the featured speaker.

Prepare for Two Step Inn this weekend

The second annual Two Step Inn country music festival takes place this weekend, April 20-21, in San Gabriel Park. Music at this year’s festival will begin both days at noon and will last until about 10 p.m.

Georgetown approves rezoning

Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction will see a new mixed-density neighborhood and commercial center with an estimated 2,500 to 3,000 residential units. The development, which is called Heirloom, will sit on 361.

Get going again with Pokémon Go! Recently, I walked around the Georgetown courthouse with two of my grandkids. They were intent on catching Pokémon and I was along for the ride.  Remember the hoopla when the game was released in 2016?

City announces Two Step Inn street, park closures

Some streets around San Gabriel Park will be closed beginning April 10 as the Two Step Inn music festival approaches. The Two Step Inn festival is April 20-21. Festival set up, which includes installation of safety fencing, will start April 10.
