Animal shelter expansion would accommodate growth to 2035

To meet current demands, the expansion of the Georgetown Animal Shelter and/or a possible partnership with the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is set to appear on the November bond election ballot.  The Georgetown Animal Shelter was originally built in 2005.

Battle for Birkelbach

Cross-town rival high schools came head-to-head to claim Birkelbach Field Friday. The showdown resulted in the Georgetown Eagles winning against the East View Patriots 31-13.

ROCK hosts second annual Cowgirl Brunch in November

Georgetown nonprofit Ride on Center for Kids will hold its second annual Cowgirl Bruncheon at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 4, at the Merlin Hoppe Arena at 2050 Rockride Lane in Georgetown.   This year’s “Courage & Grit” themed bruncheon will feature Rear Admiral Christina M.

5th Annual film festival a hit in Georgetown

The fifth annual GTX Film Festival took place September 30 in the Rodney A. & Mary Klett Performing Art Center. Tickets for the event sold out, with a total of 170 people in attendance.

Artificial intelligence is a technology that has grabbed a lot of attention, and is constantly growing and changing.  Jim Spellos presented “Everything You Need to Know About AI — But Didn’t Know to Ask” to 400-plus Sun City residents September 13.

Three properties leave Georgetown ETJ

Three properties previously located within Georgetown’s extraterritorial jurisdiction, totaling 85.746 acres, were de-annexed and removed from the ETJ Tuesday, September 26, after City Council accepted a petition submitted by landowners.

Clayman Rodeo gallops into Georgetown

The 30th annual Clayman Rodeo will ride into Georgetown at the Windsong Farm Arena at 5 p.m. Saturday, October 7. Each year contestants have to get donations for the rodeo in order to compete. All of the money collected is used for prizes and contestants.
