Georgetown Chamber of Commerce highlights citizen efforts with awards banquet

Georgetown’s Chamber of Commerce began the month of February by celebrating its members through the organization’s Annual Awards Banquet.

Painting the Town

Former H-E-B to turn into Floor & Decor

According to a permit from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the former H-E-B located at 1101 South Interstate-35 Frontage Road in Georgetown will turn into a Floor & Decor.  The project will cost an estimated $7,200,000, with construction starting May 1 and finishing in November.

Georgetown electric to implement buy all/sell all plan for new solar customers

In an effort to more equitably recoup the expenses of the electric department, Georgetown officials are updating the Net Energy Metering program so that solar and non-solar users share the fixed costs of running the electric department.

Three-story mixed-use concept granted courthouse view waiver

After a public hearing Tuesday, January 23, a conceptual design for a three-story building at 200 West Sixth Street was given a waiver that would allow it to potentially block the view of the courthouse from Interstate 35.

Filings for Georgetown City Council and GISD May elections open

The next general election for Georgetown City Council and Georgetown ISD School Board positions will take place on May 4.  The first day to file for a place on the general election ballot was January 17. The final day to file is February 16 at 4:30 p.m. for the school board and  5 p.m.
