Three nonprofits across Central Texas were honored at the fifth Central Texas Community Foundation Legacy Luncheon on Wednesday, September 13.

FDA approves new round of Covid-19 booster shots

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new Covid-19 vaccine that will soon be made available to the public.  Last week, on September 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended a Covid-19 vaccine that has been updated for 2023-2024.

Georgetown pauses making ETJ industrial districts

Georgetown is pressing pause on creating industrial districts in its extraterritorial jurisdiction because of future guidance cities may receive from the state on creating such districts. The initiative to create an industrial district emerged from language seen in Senate Bill 2038.

Floods have written Williamson County’s history

September 1921 takes its place in Williamson County’s historic archives.  Fueled by a hurricane that formed in the Gulf of Mexico, a wicked storm pummeled Williamson County September 8-10, lasting 35 hours.

The Williamson Museum honors Sun newspaper family

The 11th annual Cattleman’s Ball swings into life at the Sun City Ballroom September 23 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s honorees are publishers Clark Thurmond and Linda Scarbrough, who own The Williamson County Sun in Georgetown — an independent newspaper owned and operated by their family since 1948.
