Georgetown provides free recycling services for Christmas trees, wrapping

With Christmas behind us, Georgetown residents may be looking for opportunities to dispose of Christmas trees and wrapping materials.

Georgetown’s Main Street program celebrates 40 years

Preserving and revitalizing Georgetown’s Main Street was a daunting task in the 1980s. With a dwindling tourism industry and developments making Austin the hot area in Central Texas, Georgetown city staff turned to the Texas Main Street Program to help bring life back to the downtown area.

Crockett Gardens waterfall takes a tumble

A portion of the Crockett Gardens waterfall rock formation — a popular destination for trail walkers alongside Lake Georgetown, west of Cedar Breaks Park — separated and fell to the ground late last week.

New Year’s Eve across Wilco

Ring in the new year with these local events. All events listed take place on New Year’s Eve, December 31. Georgetown Live music at Hardtails 1515 North Interstate Highway 35 Hardtails will be playing the night away with music by Idiot Savant, followed by a champagne toast and noisemakers.
