Nonprofit library provides Jarrell with resources, community

Photos by Nalani Nuylan. Nestled off Interstate Highway 35 near Sonterra Boulevard is the Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center. The playful teal and salmon logo invites Jarrell residents and families living in the Sonterra Municipal Utility District into the nonprofit library.

Jarrell Community Library set for summer programming

The Jarrell Community Library will have its summer reading program from June 11 to July 26. This year’s theme is “Adventures of the Library” where participants will have adventures with reading challenges, crafts, STEM and group activities.

Jarrell, Williamson County begin new road project

Williamson County and the City of Jarrell broke ground on the County Road 332 expansion project Monday morning.    CR 332 will be reconstructed as a two-lane roadway with shoulders to improve safety and mobility, according to the press release.

Joyous Jarrell

The City of Jarrell will host its first Christmas event, A Very Merry Jarrell Christmas Festival, from 3-8 p.m. Saturday, December 16 on Fifth Street.

1,205-acre nature preserve opens near Jarrell

Hill County Conservancy held its first public event at the Pecan Springs Karst Preserve on National Public Lands Day, September 23. Located five miles west of Jarrell, an estimated 50 people attended the opening.

West Nile mosquito found in Jarrell, seventh case this year

A mosquito trap tested positive for West Nile virus in Jarrell, Friday July 21. The positive test was confirmed in lab results from the Texas Department of State Health Services lab in Austin.  The positive sample was collected from a trap site near the community pool on Sonterra Boulevard.
