With two Commissioners missing from the dias Tuesday, June 11, the Williamson County Commissioner’s court unanimously approved the 40-item consent agenda in an abridged, one-minute meeting. Terry Cook and Valerie Covey were both absent.

A Georgetown tradition for 72 years, the city’s Juneteenth celebration will take place over two days on June 14-15. Juneteenth marks the day that slaves were freed in Texas.

Last chance to see Juneteenth display at the library

For the second year in a row, the Georgetown Public Library has put up a display showcasing the history of Juneteenth and Black culture in Georgetown.  “[The display] highlights a part of the history of Georgetown that people don’t know about,” Librarian Anne Evans said.
