Williamson County starts Liberty Hill road project

On Friday, March 6, Williamson County broke ground on the Legacy Ranch Drive project – formerly known as the County Road 258 project – in Liberty Hill. This project will expand 0.6 miles of roadway from Seward Junction North Loop to the CR 258 extension, which is east of U.S. 183 in Liberty Hill.

Lilies of the Field is Loree Tamayo’s favorite movie. The 1963 film follows a group of German nuns as they try to set up a chapel in the Arizona desert. Needing help to build the chapel, a man named Homer was hired to assist the nuns.

Republican candidate forum: Candidates meet in Liberty Hill ahead of March primary

The Williamson County Republican Party hosted a candidate forum at Vintage Church in Liberty Hill on January 29. Seven Republican candidates vying for the November ballot presented their stances during the two-hour conversation.

Women shelter unveils latest housing additions

Philanthropy – more specifically, helping women – has always been a part of Glenda Johnston’s life. Her parents started a women’s resource center and shelter in Southern California when Ms. Johnston was young.

3 roads ready to go

Williamson County officials celebrated multiple road project completions with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the beginning of December. The projects — located in the northwest, north and northeast portions of the county — aim to improve mobility for residents.

David McDonald starts candidacy for county commissioner

Republican David McDonald — a current Leander City Council member and retired Austin police officer — has announced his candidacy for Williamson County Commissioner, Precinct 2, which is currently held by Cynthia Long. The primary election is scheduled for March 3, 2026.

Estimated $34 million in infrastructure damages caused by flooding in Williamson County

Williamson County emergency management officials estimate that flooding on July 5 caused $34 million in damage to county infrastructure.County commissioners held a special session Friday, July 11, to discuss post-flooding public health and safety concerns.

Victims, volunteers recount flood experiences

Georgetown resident Alisha Burton was woken up by a firefighter banging on her door to her RV home in GoodWater RV Park on July 5.Around 7:30 a.m., Ms. Burton said Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters were checking the San Gabriel River’s rising water.
