City talks final steps prior to Two Step Inn

Just one month before the Two Step Inn country music festival moseys its way into San Gabriel Park, Georgetown City Council discussed event details during its Tuesday, March 14, workshop.  “As a department, we are really looking forward to this,” Parks and Recreation Director Kimberly Garrett said.

Red Poppy Festival books Jamestown Revival as headliner

Magnolia-based folk music duo Jamestown Revival will headline this year’s Red Poppy Festival.  The three day Red Poppy Festival takes place in downtown Georgetown April 28-30, with live music, entertainment, food and vendor booths.

Troubadour Festival moseys out of Georgetown

After its Georgetown debut last year, the Troubadour Festival will not make its way back to the city this year.  A combination barbecue and music festival, the Troubadour Festival had its inaugural event in Celina in 2021.

Georgetown resident inducted in Tejano R.O.O.T.S Hall of Fame for music career

For roughly 20 years, Georgetown resident Johnny Joe Leal toured the United States as a guitarist, playing for musicians including Freda Payne and Al Green at the beginning of their careers, as well as Tejano bands such as The Royal Six and Ash Wednesday.

New Central Texas Philharmonic League focuses on culture, education and networking

The new Central Texas Philharmonic League’s first meeting 19 will feature Georgetown Mayor Josh Schroeder.    The meeting will be at 1 p.m., January 19, held in the Georgetown Public Library. Mr. Schroeder will talk about the positive impact the arts and a symphony can provide for a community.
