Cinderella’s Closet fundraiser brings in over $13,000 for Taylor nonprofit

A Magical Spring Affair, the fundraiser and craft show hosted by Cinderella’s Closet last weekend in Taylor, brought in over $13,000, according to founder Patrice Dempsey. Funding will be used toward operational costs and improvements for the nonprofit.

Fly fishing program to benefit veterans in Georgetown

David Perez, a member of Georgetown’s American Legion Post 174, hopes to bring a new kind of support system to the city’s disabled veterans with fly fishing. Mr. Perez left military service in 2017 and joined the national program in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the following year.

AAUW raises $2,100 from Style Show

The Georgetown Branch of American Association of University Women returned with their annual Style Show and Silent Auction March 25. The event featured lunch and a silent auction of gently used purses filled with mystery items like jewelry and wine, all donated from local businesses.

Over 800 celebrate ROCK at Barn Dance

Ride on Center for Kids saw record turnout for the nonprofit’s annual Barn Dance this past Saturday, April 1. The equine-assisted therapy center estimated over 800 guests for the night of dinner, dancing and entertainment, and welcomed a packed house.

VFW Post 8587 makes $5,000 donation to The Caring Place

During the most recent Amplify Austin fundraiser in early March, Georgetown’s VFW Post 8587 made its largest contribution to date to The Caring Place in the amount of $5,000.

Amplify Austin fundraiser to kick off on Wednesday

Amplify Austin is about to kick off again, shining a light on the nonprofit organizations that need support this year.  The annual Central Texas event is a 24-hour call to fundraise, publicized by nonprofit I Live Here, I Give Here for more than 10 years. This year’s event will start at 6 p.m.

New BiG residential community takes shape in Weir

Construction is underway at Grace Place, the new residential community that will serve Brookwood in Georgetown.  BiG is a nonprofit vocational community where adults with special needs learn to become artisans, bakers, card makers, jewelry makers and more.
