Cinderella’s Closet fundraiser brings in over $13,000 for Taylor nonprofit

A Magical Spring Affair, the fundraiser and craft show hosted by Cinderella’s Closet last weekend in Taylor, brought in over $13,000, according to founder Patrice Dempsey. Funding will be used toward operational costs and improvements for the nonprofit.

The Georgetown Sertoma Club's 20th Red Poppy Ride on Saturday, April 22, 2023 began in the parking lot behind Richarte High School. Participants cycled through various areas of Williamson County. Distances for rides were 14, 28, 40, 60 and 100 miles.

The Hacienda at Georgetown held grand opening ceremonies on Saturday, April 15. The Hacienda at Georgetown, adjacent to the Sun City neighborhood, is a luxury senior living community offering leases in studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts.

Follow the light: An impressive commitment to wet plate photography

Although I met Georgetown photographer Tom Cavness at last month’s Georgetown Photography Festival, it was surprising to see him early one morning last weekend at Taylor’s Bull Branch Park, working with his 8x10 format Burke & James camera, made in 1933.

The inaugural Two Step Inn music festival took place April 15-16 at San Gabriel Park in Georgetown. Organized by C3 Presents, the weekend's lineup included both classic and modern country music, with headliners Zach Bryan and Tyler Childers, as well as Tracy Byrd, Tanya Tucker and Wynona Judd.

Held at the Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park, this year's theme for the Georgetown Quilt Show was Tulip Time.  A variety of new and vintage quilts were on display at the show, which also included a Silent Auction.
