Japanese retail store expands to Round Rock

International retail chain Daiso will have its grand opening in La Frontera Village in Round Rock on Saturday, November 18.
The new Daiso store is 7,500 square feet and will offer customers Japanese-inspired home decor, stationery, food and more.

New walkways coming to Williamson County communities

The Texas Transportation Commission approved new sidewalks and bikeways for Florence and Round Rock on October 26.
In Florence, sidewalks will be added to Farm to Market Road 487.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s set for October 21

The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting residents in Williamson County to join the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on October 21 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m., with the walk to follow.

FDA approves new round of Covid-19 booster shots

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved a new Covid-19 vaccine that will soon be made available to the public.
Last week, on September 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended a Covid-19 vaccine that has been updated for 2023-2024.

Assault leads to 10 years in prison

A Williamson County jury on September 13 found Kamar Knipe-Place, 22, guilty of burglary and assault of his former girlfriend at her Round Rock home. The jury sentenced Knipe-Place to seven years in prison for the burglary and 10 years for the assault.
