Last week, on September 12, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended a Covid-19 vaccine that has been updated for 2023-2024.

Assault leads to 10 years in prison

A Williamson County jury on September 13 found Kamar Knipe-Place, 22, guilty of burglary and assault of his former girlfriend at her Round Rock home. The jury sentenced Knipe-Place to seven years in prison for the burglary and 10 years for the assault.

The 11th annual Cattleman’s Ball swings into life at the Sun City Ballroom September 23 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s honorees are publishers Clark Thurmond and Linda Scarbrough, who own The Williamson County Sun in Georgetown — an independent newspaper owned and operated by their family since 1948.

Williamson County adds EMS to Round Rock

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services added additional resources to its EMS station at 1781 East Old Settlers Boulevard Wednesday, September 6.
Wilco EMS added a second 24-hour ambulance at the station to better serve residents in that growing area, and added six medics to that station.

Georgetown working to secure long-term groundwater supply

Lake Creek Trail construction will begin later this year.

Round Rock celebrates University Boulevard completion

Williamson County Commissioners Terry Cook and Russ Boles along with the City of Round Rock hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of two long-awaited projects on University Boulevard, July 20.
The two-year-long project connected Interstate 35 to State Highway 130.
