The Williamson Museum honors Sun newspaper family

The 11th annual Cattleman’s Ball swings into life at the Sun City Ballroom September 23 at 5:30 p.m. This year’s honorees are publishers Clark Thurmond and Linda Scarbrough, who own The Williamson County Sun in Georgetown — an independent newspaper owned and operated by their family since 1948.

Williamson County remembers 9/11 on Patriot Day

On September 11, Williamson County residents will remember and honor the lives lost during the 9/11 attacks and other acts of great courage and sacrifice in services and events throughout the county. Here is a list of the events honoring Patriot Day.

Williamson County adds EMS to Round Rock

Williamson County Emergency Medical Services added additional resources to its EMS station at 1781 East Old Settlers Boulevard Wednesday, September 6.   Wilco EMS added a second 24-hour ambulance at the station to better serve residents in that growing area, and added six medics to that station.

Round Rock approves construction projects

Round Rock City Council Members approved multiple construction projects related to parks during its July 27 meeting. Lake Creek Trail construction will begin later this year.

Round Rock celebrates University Boulevard completion

Williamson County Commissioners Terry Cook and Russ Boles along with the City of Round Rock hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of two long-awaited projects on University Boulevard, July 20. The two-year-long project connected Interstate 35 to State Highway 130.

West Nile mosquito found in Round Rock

A mosquito trap sample collected from Brushy Creek has tested positive for West Nile virus. The positive sample was collected from a trap site near the Beck Preserve on Great Oaks Dr. on July 7.
