Williamson County extends ice storm Disaster Declaration

Williamson County again extended its local disaster declaration made following the ice storm on January 31 as restoration and recovery efforts continue.  The initial declaration was extended until March 9. It was lengthened Tuesday by an additional 90 days to June 5.

How to handle tree debris, pickups in Georgetown and across Wilco cities

Two extra tree disposal services are being offered to Georgetown residents later this month to assist in removing fallen branches and tree debris following the ice storm.   Special services being provided by the city include a curbside pick up beginning on Monday, February 27, for tree limbs.

Community, Georgetown council members cleans up after ice storm

Despite foggy skies and chilly temperatures, more than 50 volunteers gathered at the Berry Creek Racquet Club, 449 Champions Drive, Saturday morning to help neighbors cut and break down branches hanging from trees damaged by last week’s winter storm.

A major ice storm in Williamson County left many areas without power, with downed trees throughout the area. Temperatures began to climb above the freezing mark by Thursday.
