Comptroller publishes February sales tax data

The Texas Comptroller released updated sales tax data for February 2024.     When looking at the data, Liberty Hill brought in 58.60 percent less in sales tax revenues when compared to February 2023. On the other side of the county, Taylor brought in 56.51 percent more in sales tax revenues.

Early 2024 Williamson County housing market sees gains compared to 2023

The Austin Board of Realtors released its first housing market analysis of 2024, representing market activity for the month of January.   According to the data, residential homes sold in Williamson County increased by 4.3 percent, with 1,667 closed sales. Pending sales rose 3.

JP3 office closing for renovations

Williamson County Justice of the Peace office for Precinct 3, 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown, will temporarily close its lobby for renovation starting February 26. The renovation will bring a fresh new look to the facility and improve the overall customer experience.

Fentanyl dealers arrested, charged

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office provided updates about two fentanyl cases.   On February 9, Marek Dillard was arrested by U.S. Marshals and DPS officers on a Williamson County Sheriff's Office warrant for murder.

Primary election is March 5

Republican and Democratic primary elections will take place March 5, with federal, state and county-level candidates and issues appearing on the ballot. Early voting begins Monday, February  20 and ends Friday, March 1.

Jarrell, Williamson County begin new road project

Williamson County and the City of Jarrell broke ground on the County Road 332 expansion project Monday morning.    CR 332 will be reconstructed as a two-lane roadway with shoulders to improve safety and mobility, according to the press release.
